What is Managed IT Support?

This is a question we get asked a lot by prospective clients. The problem is, the phrase ‘Managed IT Support’ sounds like boring old techie jargon. But it’s actually very simple! Let’s get one thing straight, though. Managed IT Support isn’t about fixing problems. And it isn’t the same as IT Management & Consultancy (although the two often go hand in hand).

In fact, Managed IT Support means just one thing here at RoundWorks – meeting YOUR unique IT needs effectively, so your business runs smoothly and you can focus on the day job. Naturally, that means something totally different for, say, a fast food outlet compared to an accountancy firm. 1. Monitoring

We’re sure you’ll agree that prevention is better than cure. That’s why remote monitoring forms such a crucial part of our Managed IT Support service. Our sophisticated Remote Management Monitoring software keeps a beady eye on your computer systems and networks 24/7, every day of the year.

This means we can pick up on any issues before they start affecting your business operations, minimising downtime and disruption, and maximising productivity and efficiency (hooray!). You might not even notice a problem developing, as we’ll nip it in the bud where we can. It’s great news for your peace of mind, as you’ll know we’re always there in the background, taking care of your IT.

2. Management

This is partly about managing your systems remotely or onsite, to sort out any problems picked up by our remote monitoring activities. However, there’s much more to it than that, depending on your individual needs. For example, your package might include managing your backup solution (which could include a FREE upgrade to a better system!), setting up a Disaster Recovery Solution, or managing third party IT vendors on your behalf.

Whatever’s included in your Managed IT Support package, you’ll always receive two IT audits a year. We’ll make sure your PCs, server and networks are in good shape and recommend any upgrades or remedial works you might need. We’ll also keep an eye out for any money saving opportunities, such as streamlining your printing and copying activities.

As a Managed IT Support client, you’ll have your own dedicated Account Manager. You’ll always deal with the same person at RoundWorks, so we’ll get to know your business and technical set-up inside out.

3. Maintenance

A well-maintained PC is a happy PC (well, you know what we mean). The same goes for your server, other hardware and wider IT infrastructure. With regular maintenance, updates and patch management, we’ll keep your systems in good health, so they work quickly and efficiently to support your business.
